What tips do you have for clients who are re-designing their space?
Don’t compromise, go with what you love! Look online for ideas before coming into the store. Visualize what you want. It makes shopping a lot easier and can help you see what you need to change. Also, be sure what you're envisioning can be done so you don't run into problems later on. Friends and family can be very helpful but sometimes it is best to leave them at home.
How do you determine the right style for your clients?
I listen to my clients. I look deeper into how they use their space, how they live in their home and what their likes/dislikes are. By listening to my clients, I can get a better idea of how to design their space. I love seeing my client’s face when they see their design for the first time and upon delivery.
What is your favorite way to spend your Saturday?
I love getting to spend time trying new restaurants with my boyfriend or spending the day at the dog park with our chocolate lab.
We initially went to La‑Z‑Boy for a recliner and a new sofa. We ended up furnishing our living room, dining room, sitting room/office, bedroom and sunroom. They offered everything we needed and wanted—which we had not anticipated. The design services program and Kathryn are exceptional. They were not pushy or selling something not needed, but instead focused on meeting our needs and desires.
Kathryn designed our spaces based upon our personalities, personal style and lifestyle. She helped us to establish what we wanted by showing us different styles. After the initial meeting, she showed us the proposed design and it was exceptional. We bought everything! Before working with Kathryn we never thought La-Z-Boy could provide this.
Each room showcases our personality and some of our own accent pieces such as family heirlooms. Every room is warm, welcoming and functional for our daily living. The design and colors reflect a calm and warm atmosphere. Thanks Kathryn for helping us to achieve our vision!
