What tips and tricks do you suggest to make a home cozier?
I am a huge fan of rugs. Even on carpet, or if you have a rug. Layered rugs bring cozy to a whole new level. Another tip is to mix textures. Linen, shag, plush, shiny, twead, the combination of textures achieves a sense of depth and warmth. It is also important to tie in a few warm tones here and there to soften things up and make them more inviting. And of course, you need to accessorize! It doesn’t need to be cluttered but there is a huge difference between an accessorized home and one with no décor or personalization anywhere.
How do you determine the right style for your customers?
My design style for my clients is a mix of their personal style (likes, dislikes, heirlooms, etc.) and their lifestyle. We all know a beautiful space is nice to have and look at, but the space needs to truly be functional and serve you and your family well in order to be well-designed.
What is one La-Z-Boy product you can’t live without and why?
The one La-Z-Boy product I cannot live without is the Cory ottoman. It is a large rectangular storage ottoman, that sits on casters. It has a sturdy top surface to act as extra seating if needed, or it can hold a tray to give it more of a coffee table function. It can be made up in anything from a solid fabric to a wild pattern, to a nice leather. This ottoman is incredibly functional and versatile.

The designer did a great job listening and taking quite vague direction from us. She brought limited fabric choices with to the initial in-home consultation, but she was able to get a ton of feedback and insight by our comments on them. I was thrilled with her proposed design (color scheme) when we went view the 3D model.The designer was very flexible and able to quickly tweak the chair or fabric to show an alternative that I was curious about. The process of completely redecorating our living room would have taken much longer and been more stressful than fun without her skill!
Finding the Right Fit
I worked with the designer, Te’a, at the Woodbury store to style my unusually sized living room. She came to my house with some beautiful fabrics for a sofa loveseat I was interested in purchasing. She measured the room and found my choice would not work. She came up with an alternative design that will work beautifully. She also had great samples for a rug for my entryway. Thank you, Te’a for all your hard work!

The digital design service was great for understanding my space. The fabric options are varied in color, pattern, and texture - perfect for creating the furniture I personally need and want! I am anxiously awaiting the sectional sleeper I ordered! Plus - a lifetime frame warranty!!! Five stars La-Z-Boy, 5 stars!
